Patricia A. Payne, ARNP has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for over
20 years. She enjoys her role immensely. Her philosophy of care is that the
provider and patient are partners in their care. The mutual goal is to
either maintain maximum physical and emotional health or to work to achieve
that goal. Patti was born and raised in central Illinois. She received her
undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, from the University
of Illinois at the Medical Center in Chicago. Following graduation, she
practiced nursing in the Chicago area in a variety of roles. In 1981, she
received her Master's in Nursing from the University of Washington. This
program allowed her to become certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Patti has practiced at the University of Michigan in their hypertension and
hyperlipidemia clinic; at the Seattle Veteran's Administration Hospital
where she started their women's clinic and provided acute and chronic care
to male and female patients for 14-1/2 years; and the last 5-1/2 years
provided primary care to people aged 12 and up in a Kirkland internal
medicine clinic. Patti and her husband, Dick, live in Lake Forest Park with
their West Highland White Terriers, Maggi and Toby. She enjoys reading,
hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
